Celebrating My Wonderful Husband

This past weekend we celebrated Phil’s birthday. We took a few of our friend’s and Phil’s brother to a Detroit Pistons game on Friday night. It was a lot of fun. We met my friend Jess & her sister and niece for dinner before the game and also got to hang out a little after the game.

The Pistons ended up losing the game, but we had snow cones, made fun of the cheerleaders and the half time show and got to see huge flames shoot out from the backboards when they announced the players names. All in all it was a fun night.

Our drive home was a little dicey, but we stopped at McDonald’s for a midnight snack to make it all better.
Saturday night Phil’s girls soccer team had an indoor soccer game. They ended up winning the game, but lost almost half their team due to injury at some point during the game. It was brutal out there!

Sunday we went to breakfast with my family and then dinner with Phil’s dad to celebrate his birthday a little more! By the end of the weekend we were all birthday’d out.

January Birthdays

Last weekend, Phil and I traveled up to Lansing to have dinner with my family and celebrate all of the "Maltby" January birthdays. (Phil, my mom and my uncle Jeff).

We had dinner at the Harrison Road house, which was awesome. Ah to be back in the college atmosphere.

Other than that, I did homework most of the weekend and tried to catch up on some projects I started and haven't finished quite yet.

Here are some fun pictures of the event.

New Year's and Snow Women

For Christmas my dad got Red Wings hockey tickets for the game on New Year’s Eve. So my sister also got the rest of the family tickets so that we could go with him to the game. So New Year’s Eve Ann, Gual, Phil and I met my parents in Ann Arbor at Jenni & Nate’s house for dinner before the game. The game was very fun. We had surprisingly good seats. The Red Wings ended up losing, but we saw a good fight and two marriage proposals so that was exciting. After the game, we headed back to stay the night at Jenni and Nate’s house. We had some champagne, cupcakes and snacks while we watched the ball drop.

That night was a pretty big snow storm, so to make the best of it, we all made a snow woman and a baby snow man in the front yard. It was a lot of fun!

Look at this snow... it was really pretty.

Here we are all hard at work on the snow woman.

Haircut

As many of you probably know, I have been growing my hair out for the last two years to donate it to locks of love. Well, last Thursday I finally had enough hair to donate, so we (mainly my hairdresser) decided to cut it off.

I was able to donate over 11 inches of my hair and now it is short!... Well not really short, just shorter than I'm used to... oh well, I'll get used to it and it's only hair right... it'll grow back, or so I keep telling myself.

Anyways, this is what I look like now:
And here is the hair I was able to donate... a little kinky because I had it in a braid all day... but 11 inches none the less.
