Now that I’ve had a chance to catch my breath, here are some updates on our life for the last 3 weeks.
After coming home from the hospital, the doctors were worried about Natalie’s levels of Bili Ruben (Jaundice) so they gave us a Biliblanket (essentially a heating pad that emits light instead of heat and has to be kept directly on her skin for 20-22 hrs a day in order to help break down the Bili Ruben so she can poop it out). What this meant was that she was attached to this blanket which had to be plugged into the wall for basically the entire day (aside from the time spent going to the hospital to have her levels tested – EVERYDAY). During this time we lovingly referred to her as our little glow worm, since that is what she looked like at night when her blanket was glowing in the dark. She did not seem to mind, however it drove us crazy to be couped up in the living room for an entire week.
She is all better now and cord free. Here are some pictures of her with her cord, glowing and sunbathing with dad.
